RIO DE JANEIRO - BRASIL!!!!!

Boa Noite!

Escrevo agora da cidade mais esperada por todos: RIO DE JANEIRO!! Conhecida como Cidade Maravilhosa (e realmente é uma cidade de uma beleza peculiar), o Rio é a capital do Samba e do Carnaval!

Chegamos aqui na tarde de Domingo. Como nosso hotel fica no famoso bairro de Copacabana, os estudantes aproveitaram para conhecer uma das praias mais famosas do mundo!! A noite comemos um delicioso jantar e depois fomos descansar.

Ontem cedo saímos para uma visita aos pontos turísticos mais importantes da cidade: visitamos Corcovado e o Pão de Açúcar! Os intercambistas ficaram maravilhados com a beleza dessa cidade vista dos pontos mais altos!! Fomos também ao Sambódromo, onde acontece o famoso desfile das escolas de samba no Carnaval! Alguns até alugaram algumas fantasias de Carnaval, e ensaiaram alguns passos de Samba!! A noite, comemos um delicioso rodízio de pizza!!

Hoje passamos a manhã na praia de Copacabana e a tarde a maioria dos intercambistas optou por fazer o tour opcional para a maior favela da América Latina, Favela da Rocinha: foi muito interessante conhecer de perto a realidade de muitos brasileiros. No final da tarde fomos para a Barra da Tijuca, onde jantamos em uma das melhores churrascarias do Rio de Janeiro!!

Amanhã cedo partimos para Angra dos Reis, última cidade do roteiro, onde faremos um incrível passeio de saveiro pelas paradisíacas ilhas com águas calmas e transparentes. À noite, desfrutaremos de um inesquecível Luau de despedida!

Good Evening!

We are in the most awaited city of the trip for the majority of the exchange students: RIO DE JANEIRO! Known as the Marvelous City, Rio is the capital of Samba and Carnival!

We arrived here Sunday afternoon! Since our hotel is located at the famous Copacabana neighborhood, as soon as we arrived here, the students went for a walk to know one of the most famous beaches in the world!! After dinner we went back to our hotel to rest.

Yesterday morning we went to visit the most important touristic spots of Rio:  Corcovado hill and Sugar Loaf: the students were AMAZED with the perfect view from the highest places of Rio. We also visited Sambódromo, where the famous Brazilian carnival takes place. The students had the chance to rent some costumes and try some samba steps over there! At night, we went to an “all you can eat” pizza restaurant, and the students found it delicious!!

Today we spent the morning in Copacabana beach, and in the afternoon almost everybody went to the “Favela Tour” (a visit to Rocinha slum, the biggest of Latin America): it was very interesting to get to know the reality of lots of Brazilians. In the end of the afternoon we went to Barra da Tijuca, where we had dinner at one of the best Brazilian barbecue restaurant in the city.

Tomorrow early we leave to Angra dos Reis, the last city of the trip, where we will enjoy an incredible boat adventure through the tropical islands with calm and transparent water. At night we will have our farewell party, a Tropical Luau only for us!!!
